Standard of cleanliness in the room needs a lot of improvement.

Before I retired I was a hotelier. The room maid ignored the standards required in a hotel room I found 13 points that were not normal. Dust everywhere and if you don’t believe me ; look under the bed-the dust is in lumps. Dust on the kettle tray and the bed head, even the TV remote was dusty. The hairdryer was so dirty from hundreds of hands I didn’t dare to touch it. Mould was all around the bas… Before I retired I was a hotelier. Unexpectedly good, beside the railway station: we'll be back.

We had walked by so many times when we lived nearby - usually ending up in the bar on the corner while we waited for our train - but never went in, let alone stayed. We needed somewhere dog-friendly while revisiting our old haunts and stayed based on the good reviews. And it was good. Staff were great. It was a bit quirky but .... Food was good too. Being right beside the train station made it gre… We had walked by so many times when we lived nearby - usually ending up in the bar on the corner while we waited for our train - but never went in, let alone stayed. The hotel has parking literally a few doors away which is a blessing in a city. They send the codes to access the gates beforehand which makes it very easy. The place looks like some rundown big garage but there are pigeons inside so the cars get very dirty. In terms of rooms, we had a good room but the bathroom is very small. Charming and friendly hotel near the main station and walking distance to centre of town. Housed i n an old building it exudes atmosphere. The breakfast is really exceptional with organic and home made choices, and can be taken in an inner courtyard in fine weather. They were especially helpful to us with storing our bicycles and baggage. Highly recommended.
