  stayed for 4 nights, its got a nice pool and a good location near the port.The deposit of 250 euros is excessive for a trip of 4 nights and the cleaning requirements goes well beyond the idea of a hotel to be honest ( you have to remove the sheets, take the rubbish out, leave the kitchen clean ) . The appartment we had was very will equipped and the air con worked well but not all appartments have aire cond. The major inconvient to the mountain side is the road that runs behind the hotel its pretty noisy and i definetly could not sit on the balcony. The internet is only free for certain people and its limited to 2 apparatus at time. I felt like this was a lot to be improved to mathc up the price payed .

  Ants In Food Cupboard For 16 Days

  Having stayed in apartments and hotels all over the world, welcome to my first ever negative review. First the positives. The apartments are in a good location, the pool is delightful and there's a play park for young children. We've owned a small apartment just metres away for 23 years. Unfortunately we had cause to ask reception for help after just 1 day and I have emails if evidence is needed. We booked a large 2 bed apartment for our daughter, husband and 2 baby daughters - both of whom have severe allergies, need a special diet and are required to carry epi pens in case of anaphylaxis. Quite simply the apartment was infested with ants - particularly in the food cupboard. Reception was shut when we first noticed the ants (evening of day 1) so we bought and used ant spray. We tried to open the windows at the back of the apartment to allow a through draft to clear the smell for our 1 year old and 3 year old before bed. We couldn't, the patio window lock was broken. Our daughter and the youngest baby had to leave the apartment to sleep on our floor that night. The engineer came to fix the window and spray the next day and explained the ants were in the pipes in the wall. He was very polite, did his best and apologised. We asked reception, for the sake of the babies, should the ants return, could we move to another apartment, even a smaller apartment costing less than we'd already paid for another 15 days. "No, all apartments are full". Hmmm. Several days later we had to throw away all our grandchildrens' specialist food in the cupboard for a second time as, despite buying and using daily the recommended 'breathable' (but nevertheless toxic to humans) ant spray, the apartment again had ants in the food cupboard and elsewhere. This time I was advised by reception to write to 'le Directeur' asking again that he move our daughter, husband and the babies to another apartment (any other apartment) and at least waive the cleaning charge on departure. His reply was both rude and incredibly sarcastic stating, amongst other things that it was "normal" to find ants in his apartments and that they were in any case "harmless". In effect his response was 'tough'. We have had to clean the apartment, and spray it (!) every single day - and finally clear it of ants on departure to avoid their 100 euro cleaning charge. I can assure 'le Directeur' it is NOT normal to have an ant infestation in a food cupboard! PS We have been sending friends to Mer et Golf (previously Maeve Apartments) for the last 23 years. No longer! There ends my first, and hopefully last, negative review. I have not enjoyed writing this. It's all been so unfortunate and a shame that it had to be directed at Mer et Golf, Argeles.   Transfers were booked prior to arriving Apartments - Lovely reception staff with good English and very helpful.Very Dated and old decor in all areas but clean and large apartment.Separate toilet not for us.Pool - This is what makes this place better than others.Great location sun all day. Small children's pool large pool very deep not ideal for small children. Quiet setting.Missed a pool bar though. Location 10 mins walk to racou beach Port restaurants on doorstep.Argeles tourist part with shops restaurants fair , inflatables on beach 20min walk.Recommend Supermarket opposite la Chappelle or racou beach if you have a car lidl is 5mins drive. Alot of shops bars close for few hours in the day.la mer veileuse beach bar for fruit breakfast €12 Lilly's for slushes ice cream bouquet of churros and nuttela 20min walk Crazy jump inflatables on the beach closed at 8pm €7 15min walk Entertainment go to Le Wantilan Café bar for live bands family friendly and outdoors.   Lovely stay, relatively good value for money

  We have stayed in Mer et Golf several times and think it’s a great choice – super location, friendly & helpful staff, clean throughout, heated swimming pool, relatively fair price overall (given post-Covid price inflation). Overall, we would recommend this option to others. But there are some improvement opportunities which are flagged in other reviews, which I would agree with: - Air-conditioning is necessary, especially with more frequent heatwaves. It’s a “must have”. At a very minimum, the fans provided should be silent - as they're too loud at night-time. - We recommend that the old bed linen and pillows are replaced with higher quality. - Wifi should be free for all and very reliable. I think this is the only place I know in the last 5+ years that has a fee for wifi. - Upgrade or replace the playground and games room. They’re old at this point and not much fun for kids. A slide in the pool would be a nice addition. - King size beds would be preferable for the bedrooms as opposed to the current double bed size. - The corridor areas could do with being brighterI think addressing the above areas would really improve the development and bring it up to the standard expected by today's guests.   Disgusting, No hygiene standards what so ever, absolutely disgusting!!!!!!

  Reception staff very helpful. Apt.basic with a lot of bright yellow doors. No hairdryer nor Iron / Ironing Board provided in the Apt. the latter is communal in the laundry room. Toilet is separate to the bathroom which means you have to handle door handles and light switches before you can wash your hands. Disgusting!! Unbelievable request that you clean the Apt. take out the rubbish etc prior to departure. I've been round the world including 3rd world countries and never had this experience before. Even more disgusting when you check in you are given a document outlining T& C for your departure which states you must fold your sheets/ pillow cases and towels and leave them on the kitchen table, can you think of anything more disgusting than the previous guests soiled and dirty linen being left on the table you are about to eat at/ from . I think this complex requires training on Health and Safety issues and perhaps a visit from the French Health and Safety Standards would not go amiss. On arrival I had to request a change of bed linen as there was blood stained marks on the sheets ( unsure whether this was human or insect related). The lady who came to change the linen advised it was not blood but it was from the washing machine ,I still don't understand this explanation.!!!! The towels we were provided with were originally white but bordering on grey / black and in addition were thread bare and should have been binned or recycled a long time ago. If I had a dog I would be reluctant to use them to dry him/her. The internet has a daily charge and is restricted to the use of 2 devices. During the day the location is good. Come night time it is like being in a cemetery/ morgue , very limited Restaurants are open and impossible to get a drink other than wine or beer.
