The staff are very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.However, the room we stayed in (No. 116) constantly had an unpleasant smell of frying oil and seafood. I believe there might be an improper connection between the room’s ventilation and the hotel’s kitchen ventilation system. 6“Wanted to love this old hotel”Positives close to train station and on the main square across from the enchanting old town. Had character with a stunning spiral marble staircase. Negative definitely NOT a 4 star hotel with a very dark plum colour outdated decor. Carpet was yuck and didn’t look clean. Front door was broken so you had to enter through the cafe which looked so tired. Unacceptable Stay – No Air Conditioning, Insects, and Poor Management

We stayed at Grand Hôtel du Midi in Montpellier and had a truly terrible experience. We booked two rooms for one night for my elderly parents and ourselves.My parents were first given a room infested with flying gnats (room 114) and had to be moved.
