Really good. Spacious chalets. We were two people but would have slept 7. 2 bedrooms, lounge kitchen combined, large terrace with outside dining. Not crowded at least 15 metres from next chalet. Swimming pool on site. Very well equiped but no oven just stove top, big fridge freezer. . Dont supply bed sheets or towels but can be rented. Approx 10 minutes walk from beach, very near fabulous cycle path. Would recommend. Basic but affordable and comfortable. Simple and Straight-Forward

The accommodation was a two bedroom holiday cottage - there was more than enough room for the two of us, and it was a 5 minute walk to the beach (although the better, sandy beach is another 15-20 minutes walk). There is no shop to speak of on-site and its a 10 minute drive (minimum to get to a restaurant). The swimming pool is quite small - not too bad if you are the only one in it, but it closes at 7pm... WiFi is only available in one area on site, in a 'common room, next to the pool and office. The £14 charge for bed linen was a bit steep, given that we were there only overnight, but reasonable for a week. Note that there is a formal room check on the way out - you need to clean it yourself, else you get charged £50 for cleaning (pretty much standard in a site such as this). Apart from the pool and the beach, though, there isn't much in the way of activities on site or locally.

Disappointing!

Although the staff were quite kind and helpful. Nothing could detract from the fact that this was still a hut on a campsite. We were only two plus dog; there were beds for 7 !? They would have been horribly cramped.Don't arrive without your " voucher" whatever that was, otherwise they don't know how much to charge ( we were overcharged, although refunded.) and won't give you the right bed linen!!We were shocked to find mouse droppings and urine in the cutlery drawers - we ate out! We had already seen them on the beds. When I emailed the company, I was told it was coffee. Really! Well I wouldn't have brewed it up!! Les Hameux came highly recommended but we were very disappointed. Everything was charged as an extra including cleaning at 55€. Perhaps explains the mouse faeces or should I say coffee?! Beautiful houses, well cleaned. Quiet and peaceful site. Nice residents, very helpful, friendly and always here when it is needed . All you need is at the site or brought to you. We really had a wonderful week.

A great place to stay with the kids

A last minute booking to stay on the Ile d'Oleron, very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation! The chalet was spacious and extremely well equipped and lacked the basic feel of other establishments of this type. There was a good sized double, and a triple room which was a bit of a squeeze but good fun for the kids. The pool was well frequented by us, there was a good sized kids play area and all this a short walk from the beach. It was a good base from which to explore the area, wild sea views at this time of year around this northern point of the island. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. An address to keep for future family holidays.
