Desinvolte service (translate offhand manner, flippant, not really caring)
Plastic floral arrangements on each dining room table may sum up the place. Beautiful dining room but minimalist breakfast buffet and similar service. Clearly this rather unique hotel and setting with a pool and a spa would benefit by training (weekend) staff to improve the customer service and personal touch. A curious automatic light switch for the toilet in the room (not ideal if the other pero… Plastic floral arrangements on each dining room table may sum up the place. Our dinnerbooking was cancelled, but no one had told us, and we were informed about it when we asked what time we should eat. The reason was a wedding taking up all the Spaces in the restaurant. On entering the grounds there are multiple aged signs advising clients to take valuables from their cars, which did not create a particular inviting or safe atmosphere. Our room was l… The pictures show an historic looking Chateau, with a Scenic back drop and looking calm and relaxing. It may well be that we had not investigated Grenoble sufficiently, but the castle is situated in an industrial area. A genuinely outstanding place to stay in classic old school French style…lovely.
We stayed here on our way back north from the Mediterranean coast using the Route Napoléon. The route starts in Eybans. This hotel is the height of French experience and we loved it so much we stopped an extra night. Top classic cuisine, pool, great bedrooms, parking and delightful staff. The owner Guy is sixth generation in the same family and is a joy to do business with and deserves support.
