  Not clean! Found dead bug in bed

  Very disappointing experience – refund refused after finding a bedbugWe booked a night’s stay with our family (including two young children) after a long 600 km journey. Everything seemed fine until we were about to go to bed and I found a dead bedbug on the duvet. After comparing with online photos and reporting it immediately to the reception, the seriousness of the situation was confirmed: the room was declared unusable, an investigation would follow, and we were told we would receive a refund.Out of fear of bringing bedbugs home in our luggage, we drove back home that same evening — another exhausting 600 km with two small children in the car. Not exactly how we planned to end our day.After a long silence from the hotel, we finally received word that no further bedbugs had been found during their investigation, and therefore we would not receive a refund. This is completely unacceptable. The fact remains: we could not use the room due to an unhygienic and unsafe situation. The hotel going back on their earlier promise is highly unprofessional.I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. We hope the hotel will still take responsibility and refund the amount paid — as was initially promised.   Honestly, this review should have been 1 star, but since the people at the front desk treated us so well, I'll give it 3.We stayed in August when it was 34 degrees...and the hotel doesn't have air conditioning. It was practically impossible to sleep, and we were mainly worried about our pet.We reported this and they gave us another room with air conditioning (that's when we discovered that there are rooms with air conditioning)... but in this room the toilet didn't work and the shower door was broken. The elevator and the drinks machine didn't work either.Staying in an old monastery should be a magical experience... but for that to happen, it needs to be in good condition. Otherwise, it makes no sense, especially for a 4-star hotel.   Awesome place to stay!

  Awesome place to stay in Dijon. The place has no A/C but provides fans which made our stay comfortable. A perfect location, close to everything and what an experience. I wouldn't get the breakfast and go in town instead. Highly recommended !!

  Fabulous hotel with a difference

  Great central hotel with a difference. As part of group we were delighted with this hotel. Surrounded by history, comfortable rooms, secure area to lock up our bikes. Good breakfast & attentive staff. Initial contact was very slow. I used a booking agent in the end (Tripmakery, which I recommend) and all was well. Plenty of nearby bars & restaurants with Dijon Centre a short walk away. When cycling, it is very easy to get back onto the Canal pathway.
