Stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby. We had a garden room which was basic but comfortable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We didn't have dinner as were meeting the wedding party. Breakfast was a continental but plentiful. All in all a delightful place to stay. Excellent food, lovely environment.The food was very original and cooked to a perfect standard. The staff were extremely polite and obliging. We stayed here for a night as it is well-placed for a visit to George Sand's house at Nohant. This is a traditional French country hotel although we were allocated a room in the modern extension across the road. Good and secure parking. Friendly reception. This Hotel was booked for me by our customer ! I stayed here for 4 weeks and their hospitality is 5 Star ! All the staff are fabulous! Pierre the boss is in a class of his own, probably the best hotelier I have ever met !!!! Rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. Fridge and safe if you require. Parking is secure and ample. Budget hotel for an overnight stay

We spent a night in the Lion d'Argent as it's conveniently located only 4 kms from George Sand's museum in Nohant. The reception was kind and efficient, they offered to book a table for us in the restaurant downstairs. The budget room was quite clean, although it smelled humid and was in need of updating.
