    Ok with considerations

    rating24 Feb 2026

Very clean hotel. Just be aware the rooms are very small as we had two superior rooms. In addition to that the bathroom is extra small and normal rooms do not have any provisions for older folks. The restaurant is in an adjacent building and breakfast, although nice, was underwhelming for the price.

    In Need of Refurbishment!

    rating14 Feb 2026

This hotel would have been beautiful at some point in the past but is badly in need of a refurbishment! The building is lovely and has a lot of potential but it has fallen into disrepair and feels a bit miserable - especially the breakfast room. The hotel and old Carcasonne itself were not busy when we stayed - it's the kind of place that would be very busy from April onwards.Vehicles in the old walled city of Carcasonne must be very restricted for obvious reasons. Therefore the car park relating to this hotel is situated just outside the walls. The parking is expensive at 24 euros per night, however, a member of staff will take you and your luggage to the hotel and back again at the end of your stay. Our bedroom felt old and depressed with chipped paint, filled walls and doors and mould throughout the bathroom area and on the stonework behind the bed. This was supposed to be a Superior room. There was a small but lovely terrace area which we didn't get to use due to severe weather. The breakfast wasn't great - the scrambled eggs were cold and the bread section wasn't well stocked - there was only a tiny end of baguette remaining. The breakfast room itself was like something you would find at a youth hostel. Cheap chunky furniture and no love and attention to detail at all.All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient but this hotel is not deserving of 4 stars. We definitely wouldn't stay here again. At the moment the only thing this hotel has going for it is the location!

You cannot drive to this hotel!

    rating30 Nov 2025

Arriving late at Carcasonne Aiport, we collected a hirecar for the 12 mine drive to the hotel. It took 90 minutes. Although we were not given hotel acces/parking instructions (Trip.com), the hotel shows private parking as a facility. However, the arrival procedure should have been to report to a private electronically gated car park outside the citywalls (not hotel satnav coords) where you and luggage will be transported via a circuitous route. I speak French, and during our few circuits of the old city, 'phoned the hotel on several occasions for precise instructions. Using two separate phones and using the correct hotel number, our calls were routed to Tesla charging, then to an Estate Agent who phoned us back on a Saturday night to assure us of his help in buying a property! After late flight arrival and 90 mins searching for hotel, our thoughts of dinner withing the city walls, turned out to be a small bowl of nuts. Staff were pleasant enough though. Next morning we discoverd hotel location offers excellent access on foot to the lovely walled city

    Room under par

    rating18 Sept 2025

Nice hotel, but we where a group of aix couples, on arrival they stated the the hotel was full and place five couples at the hotel and us at an annex building on the other side of the street. The room was terrible compared with the others, hot, noisy and a moldy smell. We should have looked for an alternative but it is high season and we have made the reservation three months in advanced and confirmed the previous day. The front desk was callous and aloof with the situation; it was take it or leave it. If you reserve with them, please double check before you have a big deception.

    Not overly impressed

    rating13 Sept 2025

In our opinion this hotel doesn’t deserve its three stars, at least the room we had. It was in need of an update, especially the bathroom. It is a big hotel however and some rooms may be better. Good central location but a long way from the car park to lug your suitcases ( You do get help on arrival but none was offered on our departure)
