We arrived at the hotel today, and Alexis welcomed us very warmly at the front desk during check-in. He speaks excellent English. Room 602 was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had a lovely stay at the Best Western Astoria. Our flight had been delayed so we had a late checkin. Patrick was working the front seat and he greeted us with a smile and made us feel right at home. A young lady with blonde hair setup and cleaned up breakfast ( which was yummy) and she saved the day when one of our kids left their retainer at the table. The hotel is close to the beach and close to the main street with restaurants and clubs. It is nonetheless quiet. The service is good and the staff made us feel at home.But there was no air conditioning for the entire time we were there, seven days!!!! It was 33 degrees and there was only a slight amount of air coming out of the vents. We couldn't sleep and woke up sweating.
