A perfect stop over between the seaside and home

Every year on our way back home from the seaside we stop in Avignon and stay in Grand Hotel. The hotel provided us with earlier check in which we really appreciated. The rooms are always big and comfortable, and very quiet. The city center and the attractions are just few steps away as well as cozy bars and nice restaurants. Run from this hotel! Nothing works well: the air conditioning, the distribution of towels, the amenities... nothing. Everything is old, weary and torn. They work with the Guest Reservation, who are true gangsters: be specially careful about this! Complaining to the manager of the hotel about all the problems and dishonesty was like speaking to a wall. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Avoid a… Run from this hotel! The air conditioning didn't work—absolutely terrible in 35-degree heat. Unbearable. Old and worn out; there was a bad smell in both the room and the hallway. Tiny pool.
