Feeling of apathy
We came from Aix-en-Provence and the experience at this Mercure was exactly the opposite: the one in Arles has a perfect location, close to everything important, which is a lot, in the city. But compared to the great breakfast in Aix-en-Provence, we found a very weak one in Arles. The room was clean and well equipped. They had on site parking, a rarity in Arles. And… We booked 2 nights at the Hotel Le Relais de Poste, and left after the first terrible night. The room was a little on the small side, but we’d happily return
We were fortunate to arrive at this hotel in mid-October 2025, not long after it had (as far as I understand) been renovated. It was an easy 20-minute or so stroll from the train/bus station. In fact, because our train arrived not long after mid-day, we stopped for lunch in one of the restaurants in the town centre, which nicely divided our stroll into two halves. The hotel was clean, newly-carpete… We were fortunate to arrive at this hotel in mid-October 2025, not long after it had (as far as I understand) been renovated.
