Nice Hotel but Poor Service and Lack of Staff
First impressions were not good. A five hour wait to check in. No offer of holding bags while I went off and explored the area. The rooms were released dead on 4pm. Although I was told, I would be called when rooms became available. Rooms were being allocated to those who walked through the door, despite sitting in full view of the reception. The spa is great. Best hotel room I have stayed in, the design was on point. The lighting electric shutters was a delight the materials used was excellent. I have stayed in opulence in Waldorf Astoria,Four Seasons Canary Wharf, Excelsior Azerbaijan and others, but Rivage had got it right without the opulence. We had a fabulous stay at the Rivage Hotel & Spa, Annecy. Lovely clean and spacious rooms complete with coffee machines that also provide hot water for tea. Breakfast choice was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel spa is spotless with a heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a small sunbathing area. Price of a 4 star but quality of a 3 star
The air conditioning unit is set to its lowest at 19 degrees which is not cold enough in this warm weather. Poor that it could not be lowered anymore as it made sleeping in the heat quite unbearable. Went to the pool but too many couples kissing in the public areas making it feel inappropriate at times and I am not a prude.
