  A wonderful experience (though I hope not to be repeated!)

  I am joining the Galapagos cruise on 17 Feb 2026 and I arrived 2 days earlier in Quito. The Holiday Inn Express Quito hotel is very value for money. Its location is fine and I can reach the UNESCO Quito Old Town easily and cheaply by taxi or metro. I am very grateful for the hotel staff who are extremely helpful. I can't imagine they could help me to unzip my two jackets which were stuck together (I had tried in vain to unzip them for over an hour before I sought their help). They also helped me to seek medical assistance when my friend suddenly felt ill by calling a taxi immediately to a nearby hospital with English speaking doctor. They were also kind enough to send a message expressing their concern over the health of my friend. I was deeply moved by their extraordinary care for the hotel guests. [just curious the the hotel provides 4 pillows for each single bed and the internet is hopelessly slow]A wonderful experience here (and I hope my two jackets won't have their zippers stuck together again and my friends falling sick again during a trip!)

  Centrally located for any tours that you may have planned. Check-in was easy. The Front desk was superb. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast offered a nice variety...fruit, waffles, bacon, eggs, cereal, and a variety of different fresh juices.One thing that was a little bit startling is that they do not offer the 500 reward points @ check-inn like most IHG hotels. We were given the option of a bottled water or snacks. The walls were thin, we often heard our neighbors next door coughing. Overall it wasn't a bad stay.

  An excellent airport hotel. Friendly greeting, helpful staff, easy check in with very large comfortable and clean rooms.We stayed at a different airport hotel on our arrival, despite it being more expensive and slightly closer to the airport, it did not compare well to the holiday inn. If you need a comfortable sleep in a dark quiet room close to the airport, the holiday inn is the best bet.

  Nice location and breakfast. Staff helpful. Rooms have an acoustic problem; you can hear all sorts of noise from the room next door. Transportation services are provided (extras). Two fast food places just across the street. Lots of bars nearby.

  We stayed here in late June after our plans to stay in Old Town were scuttled by Quito general strike and demonstrations.We found the hotel to be closer to a regular Holiday Inn rather than a Holiday Inn Express. The room and bathroom were a comfortable size. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom layoutBreakfast spread was kept hot and fresh and featured egges etc and Ecuadorian items.For the early birds there was a cart with coffee and a few breakfast snacks to tide one over till breakfast area opened. The area has a few local restaurants and a couple of restaurants next door. Many things were closed due to the general strike. But the area is a generally pleasant area with Quito's Carolina Park and Artisinal market with an 20 minutes or so walk. The telefrico a short cab ride away.The gym is on a top floor and one could use the equipment while enjoying the skyline views of quito. A nice way to enjoy a workout.Perhaps the best reason to stay here, however, is the staff. Breakfast area staff went out of their way to be helpful and get our day started on a high note. Front desk staff answered questions about the limited options available to guests due to the situation in Quito with honesty and professionalism and helpful advice. Special recognition for Maria at the front desk and German of the concierge staff for their assistance with friendliness and courtesy and above all understanding of the situation in Quito with the requirements of thir tourist guest. Not necessarily an easy task to balance but they did the job and balanced the various things in a marvelously guest friendly way and not skipping a beat in being helpful and effectively communicating with great command of English.Thanks for a good stay in difficult circumstances.
