The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Definitely a higher end hotel. The rooms were large and everything was decorated for Christmas. It was easy to find restaurants nearby and it was a short walk to the botanical gardens and other sites. We took a $4.50 Uber to the Mariscal Artisan Market where we bought souvenirs. We stayed at the Dann Carlton for a night between two tours. WE LOVED IT! What a great hotel, and great value (compared to the UK). They had Christmas decorations & festivities up when we arrived, so had some mulled wine. The room was huge, two double (possibly queen) beds. Too noisy to sleep but nice hotel setting

Hotel has unique elements throughout giving it an impressive feel. The room was very large yet bathroom was tiny. Had a group dinner in Opera restaurant and it was good with excellent service. Down side is way way too much outside noise to get a good nights sleep and the presence of police with masks, body armor and more. Seeing 5 police at the entry just isn’t appealing. The DC is not what it used to be. We were used to come here once a year and have great breakfast buffet with proper Ecuadorian food. Now several dishes at breakfast are Asian (?) without any asians in sight. The ceviches are now being served in an egg cup. The sausages seem the cheapest from the supermarket. Then the room. Nice hotel with attention to detail. The room I stayed in was spacious and very clean. Well furnished and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good choice.
