    Unsafe and insecure Paradisus Grand Cana

    We booked Family Concierge service through Amex Travel. First up, there was some sort of a mixup between Amex travel and Paradisus systems and the 2 kids did not show up on the reservation. So we gad to pay $750 extra for one child on top of our booking. But that was not the bad part - 2 days into our vacation my wallet secured in the locker was stolen with ~$250 in it. While we are thankful that passport etc were not stolen that ruined the entire trip for us. My recommendation is to not bring any cash here which is tough because for the staff that works very hard here you do want to give them tips for their service. There was no sign of break in so it was an inside job. To the resort’s credit, they did accompany me to make sure that POLITUR (Tourist Police) did not say or do anything shady but I think it was primarily to protect themselves.FWIW the Family Concierge with swim up room is likely their best offering but I will never be back at this place. They need to improve their security

    We had a wonderful family vacation at Paradisus Grand Cana. The suites were spacious, modern, and very clean. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. The food offered a great variety, and the resort had plenty of activities for both children and adults. The overall value for money was excellent. We felt comfortable, safe, and well taken care of throughout our stay. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

    My family and I stayed here 6 nights last week and had a stellar time. We had the family concierge package which worked really well. Our concierge, Juan Adbrincoles, took great care of us. He would keep us informed of events at the resort, and set up dinner reservations at the on-site restaurants,, which were all great. Our first night we ate at Tori, the Asian restaurant. We sat at one of the teppanyaki-style tables. Our chef, Christian, was perfect. He was super funny and entertaining, and the food was delicious. Christian was looser and more fun than what I am used to at a Benihana in the USA. Sal is the steak house, which has fantastic food and perfect service. Our room was near the "Starbucks" of the resort, a coffee shop called Twe12lvet, which I really liked. The service was super friendly and quick, and they had jars of candy and Oreos, not to mention small sandwiches and pastries easily available. I thought the big buffet was great too, and open most of the day. The entertainment was fun. One of the nights we were there, they put on a music trivia contest, and the guy running that had a big personality and was a lot of fun. The whole audience got really into it. Our kids are too old for the child activities, but the whole kids area looked fantastic. When we walked through, the kids area had a DJ playing child-friendly music and the children all seemed happy as clams. The restaurant and bar at the beach were really nice, and there were plenty of lounge chairs in great shade. The beach area was very clean, no trash. We did painting & wine of the afternoons. We showed up like 1 minute late and all the seats were taken; the staff were super friendly and just ran around setting up an easel and pouring wine for us anyway. I really appreciated how kind all the employees were. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience, and we would go back.     Really enjoyed our dinner at Lemon Fish! The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being overbearing.
