Good Location, Poor Billing Transparency and Disappointing Shabbat Service

    rating13 Jun 2026

I stayed at the King David Hotel Prague and unfortunately cannot recommend it based on my experience. The hotel’s location and kosher facilities are excellent, which makes the issues below even more disappointing. One of the most serious problems was the billing process for beverages. Drinks are tracked manually and charged at checkout, yet many beverages had no visible prices and it was not clearly explained that they were charged separately. At checkout I was billed for several drinks that I did not consume, including alcoholic beverages. Being charged for beverages I did not consume was the most disappointing part of my stay. Since guests have no practical way to verify what has been recorded during their stay, the system lacks transparency and creates unnecessary disputes. The second major issue was the handling of Shabbat meals. Shabbat lunch was advertised as being served until 11:00. However, on multiple occasions food from the buffet started disappearing before the advertised end time. Even when arriving around 10:30, well within the published serving hours, staff repeatedly approached my table while I was still eating, attempted to remove dishes, and created constant pressure to finish quickly. During some meals this happened several times.A guest who arrives during the advertised serving period should not feel rushed, should not have food removed early, and should not have to defend charges for drinks that were never consumed. For a hotel that specifically serves the Jewish and Shabbat-observant community, I expected significantly better service, greater respect for published meal times, and a transparent billing process. While the location and kosher infrastructure are strong points, the overall guest experience was negatively affected by billing inaccuracies and poor meal service management.

Exceptional stay in a perfect location!

    rating22 May 2026

My mom and I stayed here for 5 days (4 nights), and it was honestly a perfect experience. While we travelled as a mother-daughter duo, we noticed the hotel seamlessly accommodates everyone, from couples to families with young children. The hotel is beautifully designed and in an incredible location—just a 6-minute walk from the Old Town Square. The neighbourhood felt very safe overall. There is a small bar nearby, and we did spot a couple of drunk guys one evening, which is just something to be aware of, but it didn't impact our sense of safety at all.The food here is amazing. There is a massive buffet with a huge variety of delicious options (I specifically loved the salmon!). The hotel is fully kosher and perfectly equipped with everything an observant Jewish traveller could need, including a Mikveh (ritual bath). They also have two elevators, one of which automatically operates as a Shabbat elevator from Friday evening through Saturday evening. Our room was clean, tidy, and spacious enough to comfortably walk around and store all of our luggage. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. A really nice, cosy touch was the blanket warmer in the bathroom! Housekeeping was excellent and cleaned our room every single time we went out. The only minor downside was that our room had an attic-style skylight window that faced upward, so we didn't get much of a view, but the room itself made up for it.The service was top-notch. The staff is professional and highly multilingual—we noticed they spoke English, Czech, and even Russian, which made communication effortless. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay here again!

A fantastic stay at this kosher hotel. We arrived Friday, was able to pray Friday night followed by Friday night dinner. Very pretty, comfortable synagogue on-site. We had all our meals in their buffet restaraunt through to Monday.Had a deluxe room- lot a of space, great bed and huge bathroom. 10 minute walk to the Old City or the train station.
