  A disappointing stay experience

  The booking website advertised that the room included slippers, a refrigerator, and air conditioning. Upon arrival, none of these were provided. The front desk dismissed the issue as a booking site error, told me to handle it myself, and even suggested buying slippers for an extra fee.Although the room had an air conditioner labeled for use between May and October, the hotel refused to turn it on during my mid-May stay, claiming the weather was too cool. This restriction was never disclosed on the website. The hotel instead suggested using a fan, but given the visible dust in many corners, this was unacceptable.Overall, the hotel shifted all responsibility onto others, offered no solutions or compensation, and failed to meet basic expectations of a five-star property. The experience was disappointing and unworthy of its rating. We are sorry that you were unable to use the air conditioning during "warm" period and that this affected your comfort. We can not use A/C while we are still heating the rooms, it does not make any common sense. This is happening few days during spiring or autumn, when night is around 0 degrees and day up to 20. I am sorry for that but it is a specific of our location in south Bohemia region. Some guests are still cold, while others feel over warm.   Lovely Stay Overall, Except for Disrespectful Treatment in the Wellness Area

  We had a really mixed experience at this hotel. On the positive side, the reception staff and the team at breakfast were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms were also excellent: spacious, clean, and perfect for traveling with children, which is why we chose one of the larger options.However, the biggest disappointment—and honestly what overshadowed our stay—was the wellness area. We specifically booked this hotel because of the pool for our kids, but our experience there was very unpleasant. The staff member working in the spa was extremely rude and dismissive toward our family. His attitude was not just unprofessional, but outright disrespectful.What made it worse was how the situation was handled afterward. When we raised the issue, the manager brushed it off as a “translation problem.” This was frustrating, as we understand enough Czech to clearly know what was said and how it was said.If you’re considering this hotel mainly for the wellness facilities, I would strongly advise against it. If that’s not important to you, the hotel itself is otherwise quite nice—but the experience in the spa left a very negative impression.   Great place to stay right at the village entrance!

  We stayed one night at Hotel Ruze on our way from Vienna to Prague. Staff was very informative, warm and welcoming (spoke English well, too). Thank you Freoud!!Location is key here!! Because it is right at the entrance to the village, you don’t have to haul your luggage through the cobblestone street to get to the train station. That was a happy accident for us, as we left for Prague on the bus. 7 min walk to the train station. We had a comfort room facing the hills and a small parking area. Not the best view, but we didn’t mind, since we were only in our room to sleep and relax. Our room had two single bed pushed together to make a Queen. Also came with a giant wardrobe in the foyer. Bathroom had a tub and a shower. Drinking was from the tap was clean and delicious. Pool and breakfast is included. Hot tub and spa were upgrades with extra charges. Breakfast was on the smaller side, compared to hotels in Vienna and Budapest, but is what we expected from a small village hotel.Overall excellent hotel. Probably a lot more busy in the high season and a lot less expensive when we were there in February.   Beautiful hotel with fantastic service. The wellness center was excellent. Close to parking. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the options wer plentiful. The rooms were very comfortable.   Eyes Wide Open -This is NOT a 5 Star Hotel - 3 Star at BEST

  The hotel is tired and in desperate need of attention. The staff, while trying, have a hard job given the state of the property and constraints. The views from the hotel are lovely and the location is prime. However, almost all the other aspects of this hotel are 5 Star pricing and at best 3 Star delivery. We had to ask for robes and were told our room rate did not include robes. WHAT?? For an extra charge, they would supply us with robes. There are no luxury amenities such as body lotion, shower cap, shampoo or conditioner. The one painting in our room was cock-eyed and couldn’t be straightened. Simply hung improperly. Most of the paintings hung in the hotel are off further demonstrating the lack of care and attention. The bathing tub was not clean. We didn’t have hot water for a bath and were told that the hotel hot water system cannot support the hot water usage. Clearly this hotel doesn’t subscribe to the concept of underpromise and overdeliver. If you don’t mind paying 5 Star rates for a 3 Star property then you will be satisfied with your stay. We were deeply disappointed. Our expectations were reasonable just simply not met.
