The Kornati archipelago is the most indented island group in the Mediterranean, and lies in North Dalmatia near Zadar. It include 140 uninhabited islands, islets, and reefs in an area of only some 70 km². There is a further jewel of protected nature in Croatia located not far from Kornati National Park: the Telaèica Nature Park, which includes a spacious and deep bay of the same name on the neighbouring island of Dugi Otok. The Kornati islands are interesting and famous for their unusual forms, extraordinary relief structures and especially their high cliffs. The railway station is around 4 km away and Zadar airport is about 10 km.
