We spent five glorious days in Rovinj, based at the lovely Villa Tuttorotto, and had such a good time. Hospitality was amazing (and went way beyond what we later experienced in Zadar and Split - maybe Istrian hospitality is rather more special than its Dalmatian counterpart)! We met Dom, Olga and Tatjana and they could not have been more welcoming. We truly loved this hotel. To be clear, this is a VERY small boutique hotel with less than 10 rooms (7 or 8 I think).
