    Trip type: Friends getaway

    Great disappointment

    rating17 Aug 2025

We have been coming to Koversada with friends and family every year for over 20 years, and we always looked forward to returning — but not this year.We no longer wish to spend our time in an FKK ghetto, where we are watched and photographed daily by clothed “guests” who stroll through as if visiting a zoo. We do not want to spend our precious time in a small, remote corner with a steep, rocky, and long-neglected dangerous access to the sea via rickety and completely unmaintained steps. It is clear that the current management prefers to invest in superficial Instagram-friendly decorations — ornamental grasses, flowers, and similar — for so-called new guests, rather than in the safety of its clients and proper maintenance of the beaches. The atmosphere, peace, and sense of community that once made Koversada so special for us are completely gone. Instead, the resort has become an overpriced, below-average campsite that desperately tries to attract new groups of guests while completely ignoring its long-standing loyal and paying visitors. As a result, the new textile section regularly hosts noisy groups of visitors who come here just to party — to light fires on the beach because it looks “cool” in photos — to peek into the FKK ghetto, leave behind trash, ashes, and cigarette butts (which no staff ever cleans up), and then move on to another location for new pictures… never to return, because they’ve “already been here.” That is the new Koversada. This year, we did not feel welcome — quite the opposite.Nor did we feel that the current management is taking proper care of the resort — instead, we were greeted by neglected beaches, ladders into the water that have not been repaired or maintained for years, uncollected trash, and a minefield of uncleaned dog excrement…This is no longer a resort for families with children, nor for those seeking peace, relaxation, and mutual respect among guests — the kind of place where people help each other when needed.Out of nostalgia, we stayed for the planned duration despite everything mentioned above. But we are deeply disappointed and disgusted, and as guests, we no longer wish to spend a single euro in this campsite or anywhere within the MAISTRA group — unless significant changes are made. And that’s despite the fact that just last year, we still believed we would be returning to Koversada for another 20 years… Mirna Radulović, Owner at Maistra Select Koversada Naturist Apartments, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at our camp. We are sincerely sorry to hear that you experienced disappointment, especially after more than 20 years of visits. Your observations about the atmosphere and safety of our beaches are of utmost importance to us. We work daily to improve our services and infrastructure, and we appreciate every comment that helps us enhance our offerings. We understand your concerns regarding the presence and behavior of other guests. Our staff is trained to maintain order and cleanliness, and we will review and strengthen our procedures to ensure a more pleasant experience for all visitors. Additionally, we are working on plans to modernize access to the sea and to ensure regular maintenance of our facilities.Once again, thank you for your time and comments. We hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.Warm regards, Naturist Park Koversada Apartments

Lovely relaxed place but clothes compulsory main restaurant. Off season is mixed clientele as business needs the income

    rating16 Feb 2022

6-7/9/20We three middle aged guys were nearing the end of a tour of Croatia in Covid times. As I am again in Self isolation (after a week in Budapest) I am catching up. I am sure I reviewed this at the time but cannot find any record on my iPad Notes or TA itself on any of the four sites for this resort. This is a long overdue review of this lovely resort.I am the naturist in this group, being half German (waist down ;)). I 'dragged' my friends here reluctantly but the resort ultimately impressed them and they were comfortable. We had stayed three nights at a nice flat near the old town which was nice but this place was better for the beach. I wished we had got here earlier! It was just off season so relatively cheap and not busy and as a result the resort was happy to take anyone for revenue (in difficult times admittedly) and atmosphere although some people were not naturists and not adding to the spirit so dedicated naturists feel awkward. A very long walk from centre of town or even the bus station in the September heat as (car biased) entrance marked a long time before the actual maps (we were following Map dot me). Maybe we missed a shuttle bus/taxi/tricycle of peak time. Not geared to walkers or public transport users so missing a trick. When we eventually got to the Reception building there were efficient but friendly staff at reception. I asked if the restaurants were clothing optional and the receptionist had to check but yes they were.We walked a short way to a well equipped and comfortable apartment with a corner mini balcony for breakfast. We only stayed one night unfortunately but we had to fly out from Trieste in a few days after visiting a friend.Lunch buffet was at main restaurant was clothed (we did not want a pizza on the small restaurant with terrace which looked like it could have been clothing optional). We peered in from outside and everyone was clothed. As I had walked to it naked I put my shorts on just in case and entered......I was immediately told off for being topless! Oooops. I dressed 'properly' and in we went to find a table at the far end near their terrace. I cannot find a separate TA page for the restaurants but only mentions on the four pages. The self service buffet aspect was of course restricted to waiters/waitresses serving from the trays. As we are pescatarians we found a limited choice and what we did have was bland and not designed to scare off the (generally) Northern European clientele. We ate well in terms of volume as the staff were accommodating. A beer each was ordered and we left a tip despite being 'self service' as the masked staff were working hard to tidy up after diners. We swam in our 'local' bay on the very boundary of the resort and also elsewhere where nudity was 'compulsory' but some of the off season guests were clothed.I hope to return when C is well under control and in a higher season as ultimately this is a very nice resort.Looks like good feedback from management which is commendable and worth a star in itself! Maistra Croatia, Other at Maistra Select Koversada Naturist Apartments, responded to this review Dear guests,Thank you so much for all your votes! A Legendary Naturist Place... showing its age, but still wonderful!

    rating13 Dec 2020

We have stayed at Koversada several times over the years, each time in the apartments that sit on the bluff overlooking the Lim Fjord. Thankfully, they updated those apartments about 10 years ago with new paint, linens, wifi, and air conditioning, making this one of the better "non-camping" options for naturists in Europe. What we love most about Koversada is the sheer expanse of the place, along with the ability to wander the grounds dressed (or not) as you please. Even the restaurants and bars are pretty relaxed about nudity, especially during the day. We're particularly fond of the fish restaurant out on the little island, as well as the Blue Bar - perfect for an afternoon beer while gazing at the sea. There's no pool complex, but lots of swimming options along the pebbly shore. Most definitely one of our go to naturist places, especially if you like good food and the simple life. Poorly managed and outdated

    rating24 Jul 2019

This family camp should have someone to take care of broken playgrounds. There is so many kids in the camp and program/activities for them are just pathethic. And Maistra’s Amarin hotel is something to look upon or Valamar’s Maro club.Apartments are outdated but you will love them if you love the 80’s. MaistraCroatia, Manager at Maistra Select Koversada Naturist Apartments, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for all your comments and extensive explanations. In my own name and on behalf of the whole resort Apartments Koversada , I would like to express my regret that things have not gone as expected.By day-to-day work and maximum engagement to meet the set standards, we try to please all guests in a variety of ways. The fact is that we did not succeed, at least not in the way we intended, given that our service did not meet your expectations. We have taken additional surveillance and education measures to further enhance our service. We sincerely hope you will visit us again so that we can show you how much we care about each guest and regain your trust and sympathy.Best regards,Sanja ŠćulacManagerApartments Koversada

    One of the last oases

    rating09 Jun 2019

It seems Croats have decided to destroy one naturist campsite after another and also spoil as much nature with "modern" concete resorts as they can. However, Koversada is still (for how long??? ) green as ever, unspoilt and simply a lovely place to spend your holidays at. A variety of beaches, vegetation, wild animals, forests, walking paths make it always exciting. Water is not available on all pitches and electricity is not strong enough so you may have problems with using an oven or a heater. Also a lot of trees need cutting dry branches off. Sports grounds are run by lovely people, so helpful and friendly. So, with a bit of effort it could be perfect. I sincerely hope they realise it mustn't be spoilt but merely tended better.
