Its not the best option

The hotel is well located. The main highlight is the cleanliness of the rooms. The bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is fine, with hot water, although it is salty.Positive points: the staff is very helpful and explained the rules to us in detail.Negative points: a lot of mess on the ground floor, too much noise, a dirty pool, and loud music. Breakfast offers few options. The air conditioning in the reception area is extremely cold, and they only gave us one key to access the room. I will certainly not return. Very Nice, Very clean, Great Staff

Expedia booked us into another hotel a week after it booked our tickets, so we were scrambling for a place. We were fortunate to find a room here. The breakfast was good, the staff wonderful. Only downside was that their WiFi connected, then tried to open a pop up to log on to the network. It could not figure out a MacBook, so I was reduced to my phone. Would return

The worst check in and breakfast experience in my life

The check in is at 16:00 with no exceptions (even with the rooms available). The front desk area was completed crowded at 16:00 with all the guest checking in at that day waiting. The front desk staff isn’t fast enough to accommodate everybody and guests start arguing with them. A complete mess!Breakfast: only starts at 07:30. Too late for a beach hotel and the tours usually starts at 08:00 in the pier area. Huge lines due to the COVID protocols. They should have more staff serving the guests. My room didn’t had windows. A closed box!My bathroom door wasn’t working properly. Stuck in the floor. Don’t stay at Portobello!

1) Bad price-quality ratio. The hotel is really expensive, with the same amount you can enjoy a longer stay in a five-star hotel in Medellín.2) They did not clean the room properly. There was still dirt on the floor and the hair of someone on the pillow. They are also clumsy in this regard. One day they did not give us towels at all, and we had to ask 2 times in the reception to get one. Sometimes they also did not give us new soaps.3) The breakfast was kind of sad, and if you wanted more of something because you did not want the others, they always became aggressive and resisted. We also once asked for another cup of coffee and they ignored us. In other words, the breakfast was not a buffet, but rather a rationed meal.4) Check in was slow.5) Employees were not so friendly.The only positive sides are that the AC was working well, and that the location is central.

Had very low expectations. Hotel wasn't so bad.

I wasnt sure what to expect at Portobelo Plaza or even San Andres, given the mixed reviews. But overall, i didnt think the hotel was that bad. Much better than my low expectations.The room is definitely a 3 star quality, with basic accommodations. Staff was friendly. The location is good, because you are in the heart of Centro area and beach is 5 mins walk. I definitely recommend staying on this side of the airport (centro area), unless you want a very quiet vacation. I cant comment on the price, as I paid about $100 USD per night. I didnt eat breakfast (looked blah!), but there was a massive line each day.Tip- i get the sense they get a lot of big families and annoying tour groups, and each day there was a long line to check in. So I suggest once you land at the airport, rush as fast as you can to the hotel - so you can check in before others get to the hotel. Taxi will cost 15K COP.
