    Great hotel to relax and enjoy the city

    Great location close to a shopping mall, public transportation is not to far. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms were great, comfortable beds, clean, and water bottle was replenished daily. Evening drinks at the bar were fantastic as was the morning breakfast.     Stayed here for 5 nights. Everyone we dealt with was awesome. They all tried their English with us and we were able to communicate well. I have food allergies and the chef came personally to talk with me and prepared lovely GF food for my breakfast!! The hotel was a bit noisy on the weekend but fine after that. It is located steps from the huge Santa Fe mall which was great for meals, shopping, etc. getting in and out of the hotel is a bit tricky due to the strange road configuration but walking was fine. It’s tricky to get to the Metro but there are orange signs that help. I highly recommend d this hotel in the quieter part of El Poblado!!     The Portón Medellín is less than a 5 minute walk away from the Santa Fe Mall, which is massive. Upon first glance of the room, you can tell that the hotel is a quick fixer upper. The building is aged with a few modern upgrades. Nonetheless, it was a livable space. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good with various hot and cold options. Some foods were mislabeled - i.e. The waffles were labeled pancakes. - so be careful and ask questions before placing food on your plate, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Initially, I was turned off by the fact that my cousins (group of 5) and I asked for to be placed on the same floor, meaning at least 2 of us on the same floor, but the representative at the desk lied and said that all of the rooms were occupied, which left one of my cousins left alone on the top floor. Overall the service was decent and the staff were accommodating.     Second stay at this hotel, great staff nice rooms. The updated room I stayed in on second visit was very nice. The location to the big malls which were a short walk away was nice. This was a very safe are, I went out at night and never had any issues with anybody approaching me. Thanks Porton staff you were all great!!
