Our stay at Sofitel Montréal fell shockingly short of luxury standards due to continuous staff carelessness and privacy breaches. On our first morning, a housekeeper walked directly into our room unannounced while we were undressed. We stayed for 5 nights in a superior king room. It was a decent size and had everything we needed. The bed was far too soft for my liking and gave me a sore back. That's personal preference of course but it would put me off staying here again. It's a well known fact that a firmer mattress is better for comfort and posture.Otherwise the room was very good. Fundamentally Good Hotel - but falls short of 5 star

The rooms are quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the decor is great throughout the hotel. However, the bedroom air con is annoying. It switches “on”, gets to a temperature, the switches “off”. Then, about 5 minutes later, it switches on. It’s not possible to set the fan to “permanently on”.
