  I went with my family stayed 30 more minutes then we paid and they called the police on us because we were not leaving.Thats what they said but we just forget to leave at 12 they just needed to told us.S.K

  After attending my appointment I arrived at the hotel to check in and the gentleman was very rude, condescending and tried to belittle me. This was because I could not understand the Bulgarian language. He proceeded to role his eyes at me and speak to me as I was stupid. It was only when I challenged him regarding his communication and customer service skills wanting to speak with someone else he apologised to me which was a bit to late my impression of the hotel was already made. I definitely will not be staying here again and would not recommend.   We booked 7 nights in march 2025 for myself my husband Patrick Connolly and daughter .jasmine Henderson The rooms were not cleaned and manager unavailable for 3 days - manager inspected the room only agreed sink in bathroom dirty and advised if we were not happy LeaveComplaint sent to best western company They have now advised that they can not resolve the problem and we need to contact the hotelMy advice do not use best western hotels as they do not help when there has been a problem and do not use this hotel - booked through booking.com Boyan Alexandrov, General Manager at Best Western Plus Olives City Hotel, responded to this review Dear Connolly family, thank you for your efforts to send back info on all channels.   Amazing hotel in Sofia

  This hotel is GREAT! My only regret was that I was only there for one night. The hotel appears quite new and it is very modern. My room was HUGE. It had a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom, and even a little kitchen. The balcony was large and was accessible from the bedroom or living room area. Check in was simple, and an elevator was provided. There is a door between the elevator and the hallway to keep noise to a minimum. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which is clean and bright and has great food. There is also a mini-market attached to the hotel. The mini-market was not 24 hours, but there is a larger market not 500 feet away on the street corner. Initially my air conditioner only provided heat, however a call to the front desk had that remedied in no time. When I went to sleep the room was dark, cold, and quiet -- just the way I like it. I slept like a baby. I highly recommend this hotel.

  Upon arrival at the receptionwe had problems with the prepayment;It was not possible to pay the price without the prepayment already provided, after about 30 minutes it was possible in cash, not the preferred card payment; the employee justified this with a new computer system.The room was not air conditioned upon arrival and was quite warm; the shower does not drain normally and quickly fills up to the brim; The beds are a kind of box spring bed: for me (about 85 kg) the mattress was not comfortable.There was only few toilet paper upon arrival, soI called the reception after it was finished, but after about an hour nothing was delivered - not to be expected for a 4 star hotel!The bathroom fan is a bit noisier than I expected and should usually auto stop after a while (although it was connected to the lamp, it usually happens).The thick curtains easily detach from the suspension when closing, and the small room fridge is much too loud (noticeable at night).When exactly is breakfast should be in the folder (I didn't see it at first glance)I liked the breakfast, the orange juice could be freshly squeezed, there should be milk (and lactose free) next to the muesli, and there should also be gluten free bread, but overall good quality of the products; we didn't try the restaurant for dinner due to the high prices.fitness room:Directly the first machine on the left (for legs) doesn't work and it hasn't changed during the week's stay, although we complained, the note with this information had fallen under the bench, so not visible; but otherwise the hall is in good conditionThe pool is small and during the stay they closed it, it was soon announced that the pool heating would be repaired: heating at 35 degrees outside air temperature? Incomprehensible! I tried to speak to the manager but he didn't seem interested. After we asked for a discount because the pool wasn't working, at least they took away the note the next day.All in all, this hotel did not overwhelm us and we will not visit it again: high standards and beautiful pictures, but unfortunately no coverage in reality.
