HORRID TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE AS AN AFRICAN

This is not the place to do to when you want peace and tranquility coming from a country that has newly established bilateral relations with Brazil. Especially because a bank can assume your card was stolen and block it. THE WORST time to do it is on public holidays and when timezone differences can make all the difference in how you can follow up with your bank. Botswana networks don't roam in Brazil, making it more difficult. Understandably the difference between Lusophone and Anglophone globally. So. One can imagine the TRAUMA I endured when not being able to reach my bank and having to sit at reception for 4 hours stranded with no alternative AFTER a transnational flight while jetlagged! They laughed and disregarded their own global brand customer care line after I reached out for intervention. In the end: I was unceremoniously and involuntarily lead to use my points led me to a room that:1. Did not respect my app preferences despite a previous booking that was there and should have reflected as is the norm whenever I go. Especially since I already had a reservation and they were not fully booked.2. I endured mosquitoes all night3. It had a malfunctioning toilet system that leaked and did not refill water properly4. The toilet did not have proper ventilation5. The aircons were malfunctioning6. The soaps had not been replenished and showed that it had been a while not being usedIt was clear that that room was not used regularly and most likely, management was aware of the kind of room it was. It was a waste of my points ON CHRISTMAS DAY and the shock/trauma of it all only made sense once I rested yesterday. IHG has no regard or respect for my loyalty. I will also be widening audience because it is unacceptable to have to endure such during CHRISTMAS. No apology will erase such a horrid and disgusting treatment.It reflects why I am no longer a Diamond Elite member after experiencing poor service levels that were addressed in different instances without having to be public. However it is clear - that I must exercise my choice where I am respected, valued and regarded. This is the clarity I needed once rested. I don't want any other useless apology that makes no difference to my life or erases how I was treated. Hotel was recommended by my surgeon. Room was comfortable. Staff were five-star accommodating and happy to assist me in my native language. Pool is useless, as it is a very small area in perpetual shade due to the aspect of many tall centrally located buildings. My room was comfortable, but overdue for a “deep cleaning”. Included breakfast was more than adequate. Location was very convenient; could really walk to dozens of points of interests, including shops and eateries. Clean, safe hotel in great location with amazing staff

Clean and safe hotel in middle of Finance district. Huge food court in back of property. Staff are all very friendly. Be ready for traffic jams in the morning.Hotel food isn’t bad. Take advantage of local restaurants and bars. Great nightlife! The staff makes this hotel. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. They go out of their way for sure. Wellington and Jonathan at the hotel and Mr Carlos at the breakfast area were incredible! We stayed at a suite with two bedrooms; perfect for a family of four because it is spacious. The room is a bit dated but extremely clean. When I say clean I mean it. I typically stay at 5 stars hotels, our room was very clean. Once again, every single staff member went above and beyond. I wish I remembered all of their names to thank them.
