I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Maceio for a week while in Brazil on a business (research) trip. I really enjoyed it - the location is great, just a few blocks from the beach but not directly on it. It's close to a good stretch of the beach as well, quite near some of the best beach bars in town. My wife and I where staying in Maceio for one night, so we booked this hotel. I have to admit I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in Brazil (I grew up in the US & Canada), so was curious about the level of service at the hotel. The rooms are new, and the service was decent as well. The breakfast room however is I feel too small for the size of the hotel. One block from the beach, very clean (I'm very peeky), good airconditioning, the staff is friendly. The breakfast is outstanding. We would go back next time we are in Maceio. Great place if you need to travel solo or with a baby.
