    I had an excellent experience at the hotel’s restaurant. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated professionalism, courtesy, and genuine attentiveness.     Always disappointing experience

    Unfortunately, this was not my first stay at this hotel, and once again it proved to be a disappointment.The check-in process was excessively slow, handled by undertrained staff using an outdated and inefficient registration system. What should be a smooth and professional arrival experience instead felt disorganized and unnecessarily time-consuming.The room itself presented several maintenance issues that are unacceptable for a hotel of this category. One of the beds had a broken leg, and both the sink and toilet were clogged. These are basic functional elements that should be inspected and resolved well before a guest enters the room.Room service was equally underwhelming. The food delivered was of very poor quality—more comparable to a basic cafeteria dinner than to anything one would expect from a hotel restaurant, especially one that positions itself as a high-end property.Although the bathroom appears to have been recently remodeled, the execution was substandard. The workmanship and finish were disappointing, to the point where the result felt amateur rather than professional.Overall, the hotel seems to rely heavily on its past reputation rather than on current service quality, maintenance, and proper staff training. Unless significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend this property and will seriously reconsider staying here again.     Once a shining jewel, now just a rundown hotel.

    We booked a family suite and the sleeping arrangements were optimal for our family. We had one king bed and two twin beds. We have nearly two weeks booked in the hotel and we have some issues that no one seems to be able to repair. First, the shower has a lot of black mold all around the caulking. It needs to be replaced. Second, the caulking is no longer effective as the water from the shower leaks through the shower, through the baseboard and onto the floor. They were kind enough to give us a squeegee to push the water down the drain, but that’s not what we expected. I first started coming to the Ouro Minas about 20 years ago. It was the premiere hotel at that time, but years of neglect have taken their toll on the building. The location is great, the breakfast is great, but the hotel has deteriorated over the years. The staff is more than friendly and helpful, but the building spoils their efforts.

    Deceptive billing, charged for extra night. Hotel is very loud with highway noise, dirty, run down, and old. Staff not helpful at all.
