Even if the reviews were a bit concerning, I have to say that our stay here was quite pleasant. Breakfast was good (the baked goods are highly recommended) and the rooms are clean and tidy. I personally like also the vintage vibe this hotel has. Staff has been helpful and prices are fair. Reaching the city centre is very easy with tram D (the block seems also very safe to walk through at night). Giving 4 instead of 5 because of the fire alarm randomly going off for 20 minutes straight one night - they couldn’t turn it off and it has been quite scary. Besides that it’s a very nice place and I would recommend.

Fine for a night or two because price is right

    rating27 Oct 2025

The hotel was old and rather dated but it was fine for 2 nights and the price was good. Location was just ok. The area was kind of dead and a lot of street construction was going on. Billa supermarket was close but the bakeries and food options seem to be about 5 or 6 blocks further west. Getting to central Vienna is kind of a pain on public transportation but doable. My room on the 1st floor was a good size looked onto the back of the hotel with no view which was ok with me because it was quiet. The room was also very clear. I got a little cold on the second night so I turned on the heat and it worked great. TV was not so great. I didn't care so much that it only had 1 or 2 English speaking channels, but I tried watching TV from the bed the soccer players were tiny. You can't really sit at the desk and look up at the TV because it is so high you'll strain your neck. Wi-Fi was not so good. Bathroom was good size and it had a tub but I'm not a tub person. It was awkward showering with the handheld shower head. I like bathroom counter space and this room did not have good counter space but they did offer free cotton ear swabs and make-up remover pads. Good space and hooks for clothes hanging and a spot to sit my suitcase. Staff was friendly. Pet Peeve: There was a bottle of not so tasty apple juice and a sparkling water on the desk when I arrived. I thought it was complimentary as had been the case at a few hotels. Turns out I needed to pay 4.20 euro when I checked out. I missed what it said on the back of one of the room brochures -- so not super obvious. That is just poor form to not make it more obvious if you are charging and it left me with a not so great taste in my mouth.

    Too noisy

    rating21 Aug 2025

Hotel was very old fashioned but I knew that when booking. What I didn't know was there is a construction site outside where they start working at 6am, I'm not talking about an odd bang of a hammer, I mean the hotel was vibrating at one stage it was that loud. Also room 106 has what sounds like a river going through it every few minutes even during the night from a water tank. Asked to change room but wasn't possible. We had very little sleep for a 3 night stay and came home exhausted. Customers should be informed before booking of the noise that they are going to endure.

    Very affordable hotel

    rating12 Apr 2025

This is essentially a budget hotel and so I think you have to bear that in mind before booking. If you want ameneties & somewhere stylish & modern this is not the hotel for you. But overall this is an OK hotel. Yes, the hotel is dated and pretty dark & dingy. But it was clean, the service was friendly, the breakfast was fine. It is way more affordable than a lot of other places in Vienna. Location isn't super central but it's close to a metro station.
