A Solid, yet Expensive Hotel (for what it delivers)
Stayed 2 nights due to proximity to Old Town and TA reviews. On the whole, our stay was fine. The only ding is regarding value. While this is a European chain in a reasonably modern building (certainly not an ancient building), rooms, public space, parking, etc. are all very “cozy”, or just plain small. My stay at Leonardo Hotel Salzburg was an absolute disaster, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place.The hygiene and cleanliness are non-existent. The lobby, dining area, and kitchen were filthy. The breakfast buffet consisted of stale, unhygienic food, which unfortunately caused severe food poisoning for both me and my partner. Wonderful four night stay for a work meeting. Great location (easy walk to city center through the cool tunnel, bus stop right out the door with buses on major transit lines), great breakfast, comfortable room.
