El Calafate (2 km) is an attractive tourist village considered the main entrance to the wonderful tour of the glaciers. El Calafate was named after a typical bush from the region: according to legend, those who eat its fruit will return for more. It is the closest city from which to visit Los Glaciares National Park and its world renowned Perito Moreno glacier, declared a Natural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. The nearest public transport connections can be found in El Calafate.

Beautiful location right in front of the lake. You can see the pink flamingos from your window. The service was great the room was clean. This place offers a complimentary shuttle service to down town and is always happy to help get a taxi if it’s out of the hours the shuttle runs. Very average hotel. Although we had a big room, the service was very bad. No one in reception speaks English. The room is located on the busy street, very noisy all night. The staff that cleaned a room next to us late in the evening, were so loud that I had to come out in my PJ to ask them to stop the noise. Breakfast was not nice, all was there but low quality.
