Stay Away from this Hotel at All Cost

    rating25 Apr 2026

I checked in this hotel today and normally I wouldn’t write a review while I am still staying there. The guy who checked me in was OK but the lady receptionist was rude, unprofessional and rolled her eyes at me, this is something I have never experienced in my years of traveling. I am a seasoned traveller who have travelled to over 100 countries and have stayed in numerous hotels and this receptionist is the worst I have seen in my life. So basically it sets the tone for the stay. The room is large and has a nice view of the sea. But these are the only merits. There is no coffee machine or kettle in the room. I have to call room service every time I want hot water. I asked them for a kettle, room service passed the buck to concierge and concierge said that it’s none of their business. BTW, it took me ages to figure out how to use the phone. I need to unplug it and plug it back on if I want the phone to go through. But 9 out of 10 times nobody at room service bother to pick up the phone, I need to pass through concierge or reception to get hold of them. The housekeeping team of this hotel did a lousy job in cleaning the room. When I first went into the room, there was only one glass in the bathroom and a dirty one to boot. There are papers, threads and dirt on the stained carpet. Dust on the bathtub and bathroom sink. But the crowning glory is the used shampoo bottle I spotted in the bathtub. There are broken fluorescent light bulb left in the closet. There are only 3 hangers in the closet plus a broken one.It is a local travel agency that booked this hotel for me. They called and texted the hotel to communicate the concerns but the hotel definitely turned a deaf ear. I can hardly understand how can this be a 5 star hotel. The management should be ashamed of themselves for doing such a lousy job. There is no service at all. So take it from me, do not waste money on this hotel. Find some other nicer ones. Honestly this is one of the my very worst hotel stays, if not the worst. If I can give zero star, I would definitely do it.

    Thanks Ali!

    rating05 Aug 2025

This is comparable to a 4-star resort outside Algeria. It doesn’t surprise but for the most part it meets standards. Rooms are spacious as other reviewers commented. Beware however with the lack of amenities and walkable shopping. I found myself unable to call room service most of the time, they don’t answer. WiFi is intermittent. Lots of gaps in service. So why 5 stars? Ali. It’s because of Ali at the traditional Algerian restaurant . He treated us fabulous. That’s because, us while in desperate need of (embarrassing for a 5 star resort) water, he was able to get us some with a smile. Ali captures the Algerian hospitality that the country is famous for.

Bad experience during my stay in February 2025. Restaurant was very bad

    rating21 Mar 2025

I stayed at this hotel in February 2025. The rooms are OK but internet is horrible. But one thing that really upset me is their restaurant. They really rip you off if you eat there. We had a simple dinner and the cost was over $80 per person. It is verry expensive by any international standard and especially for cost of living in algeria. the food was horrible for what it is supposed to be authentic Algerian food: "bourag" and couscous. they could at least have a good chef. My American guests were not impressed by the couscous at $80. Furthermore, the service was below average if not horrible. I wish I stayed at marriott: same price, excellent internet and excellent food.

    Very relaxing hôtel

    rating26 Dec 2024

Huge hotel, opened in 1975 and recently renovated. This hotel has a special style, very well located, facing the large bay of Algiers on the heights of the capital Algiers. Large conference room, and rooms reserved for all types of events. Several dining rooms, swimming pool...huge parking lot.
