Hotel Kette

The room was a nice hotel room. The lighting in the bathroom was not great for applying make-up. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic, but we were concerned it was going to overflow the lip of the shower because the water drained so slowly. We were staying in Italy for a while and had multiple pieces of luggage. When reservations were made for our water taxi to the train station, we were called "puttana", which is very derogatory. Yes, it would have been better if we had less luggage, but there's no need to be rude about it. I left my jacket in the closet and they were very nice and had it shipped to me at my next destination. That was very much appreciated. Some people were nice and some were rude. I guess one can find that with any establishment.

Booked the Kette for a weekend City break for my wife and I following her birthday. The location was great as we wanted to be close to St.Mark’s Sq and were happy to lose ourselves amongst the streets and alleyways surrounding it. Room was clean and our bathroom shower room was absolutely fine,no issues that others have commented on. Staff were attentive,polite and helpful throughout which again goes against other reviews I have read. The hotel is in what I can only guess is a classical Venetian style full of marble and dark wooden panelling so in that respect it has real character which guests will either like or dislike. I liked it. I can see how breakfast could get very busy in high season as the dining area isn’t that big but (for us) it was fine and the meats,cheeses & fruits on offer were more than adequate to start the day off and were certainly tasty. In summary : Nice hotel,great location,clean,lovely staff. It’s not ultra modern but you have TV in your rooms and the in house Wi-Fi is great. Would happily come back.
