Eurostars Porto Douro

We liked it because… - perfect location. You can enjoy the view of the river and the bridge that punctuates Porto’s scenery at a more quiet area away from the pack of tourists - they have a roof deck with a nice view and a bar (small one) - your room has a private deck with a view of the river - 2 separate bedrooms connected by a shared hallway and private entrance; each one with our own bathrooms, TV etc - shower is spacious and doesn’t have the awful dual shower and tub that some hotels in Europe have - shower has strong water 🚿 What we didn’t like much… - lobby is terrible; don’t expect much - parking is limited. If you arrive late you’ll have to go find a parking garage - bed wasn’t so comfortable

Recent reviews left for Eurostars Porto Douro do not represent our experience of this hotel. Firstly it was well maintained and our room was cleaned every day to a very high standard. Its a great location within easy walking distance of all the major sights and plenty of restaurants along the Cais Ribiero. Stunning views from the riverside rooms and the selection of items on the breakfast buffet would take some beating. Despite the roof top bar being closed for the season, the terrace is still a wonderful place to enjoy an early evening drink after a busy day discovering the city. Undoubtedly some of the streets in Porto are steep but the funicular and cable car are good options for making the height on either side of the river and the public transport is excellent. Would certainly use it again!

we recently stayed at Eurostars Porto Douro, and while there were some aspects we enjoyed, several areas need improvement. Pros: - Location: The hotel is perfectly located near Ribeira Square and the historic center of Porto, making it easy to explore the surroundings and access popular spots on foot. we had a room with a river view, and the view was beautiful, seeing Douro river and the Dom Luis I Bridge. - Mini Bar: lots of drinks and snacks to choose from, with extras. - Breakfast Buffet: we didn't have the Breakfast included, but when we went for breakfast, we really enjoyed it. lots of options and the staff of restaurant was friendly. - Noise: The hotel is fairly quite, which allowed us a good night sleep. (we were on the 4th floor) To improve: - Room Comfort: we had the Double room, river view. The room itself was very small, with the bed taking mostly all the space. No room to move around. The bathroom was modern and the bed was comfortable. - Cleanliness: Not bad, but could have been better. - Front office Staff: Unfortunately, the staff service was below expectations. they never greet you when you walk in the hotel, sometimes we felt that they don't have the time to answer our questions. The only one who was smiley and said Hello everytime, was a young man and is obviously doing his training. The lady who did our checkout was friendly too. Overall, EuroStars Porto Douro is good, however, it needs improvement in several areas to offer a more satisfying and comfortable experience for guests.
