Hotel du Nord Interlaken

What a bad checkin experience. The reception checkin staff was so rude to me, because of the Swiss travel agent booked under my first name instead of last name. We booked 2 nights from different agents and at different time. She refused to check the booking reference, and finally we agreed to amend the booking name. I have asked if we could do free upgrade because two booking two room type. It doesn’t matter could or could not, but the staff looked down upon us, and told us no free upgrade in Switzerland. OK, we paid CHF18 for upgrade. Then I noticed that the room number for lower type of room before we confirmed upgrade was same as the upgraded room. I asked about this, the staff became angry and told me that she had changed the system already and told that I did not trust her. I was in doubt and did not answer her. She was so impolite. Thought the room and the facilities of this hotel are fine, I would not recommend this hotel again.

Great hotel in Interlaken specially when you make Interlaken your base when visiting the Bernese Oberland area. Only 7-8 minutes away from Interlaken Ost train station. We stayed at a nice room with a very nice view of the Hohematte Park. Very comfortable bed and free breakfast each morning. If you are leaving early before the breakfast restaurant opens, you can make arrangements for a boxed breakfast. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. We would like to give credit to Alex, from the breakfast restaurant where she always greeted us with a big smile during breakfast and you can really feel that she loves her job. Kudos!
