Hampton by Hilton Dublin City Centre

I’ll start with the positives - good location for most things within the city centre, clean hotel, clean room and had all facilities I required. Good for what I needed whilst I was visiting the city. However both evenings various “alarms” went off in the room from out of nowhere numerous times - right through to the early hours of the morning. I thought it was the telephone at first as it seemed to be coming from that area, but then it would stop - then an electric box in the vent above the door made such a loud noise on various occasions - again right through until the early hours of the morning. This resulted in having next to no sleep at all, as once I had woken up from whatever these sounds in the room were I could not get back to sleep. I mentioned this to reception & all I got was an insincere “sorry about that”. There was no attempt to empathise with the fact that for 48 hrs I have had around 5 hours sleep due to the hotel sounds waking me, there was no attempt to rectify my complaint - this isn’t exactly a “cheap” hotel where you could kind of shrug it off as you get what you pay for. The thing with ANY hotel is you expect to be able to sleep in it, which I did not. I left the hotel before I even had breakfast as I was so annoyed at the insincerity of the reception team member. I would love to visit Dublin again, but this experience has made me question whether I would stay here again as I would appreciate being able to sleep without being woken by various sounds & alarms.

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a gig in the Olympia which turned out to be cancelled on the day. We parked the car in Arnotts car park which does overnight secure parking for €12 and is only a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. The Four Courts Luas stop is also right next to the hotel. Temple Bar is only a short walk across the river. We were greeted by very welcoming and friendly staff at the reception. We had a lovely big room with great views of Dublin City. There were large windows in the room which let in lots of light. The room was clean and modern and beautifully decorated. There was a wide selection to suit everyone at breakfast the following morning. The hotel offered great value and we would have no hesitation returning here on our next stay in Dublin.
