The Editory House Ribeira Porto Hotel

Amazing hotel. We were greeted with a friendly face from every staff member we met. On check in Patricia sat down with us (and a welcome drink and Pastel de Nata!) and gave us some amazing recommendations for restaurants and things to do. (She even drew them on a map for us). The room was way bigger than we expected and super comfy. Perfect location, very central and walkable to everything. The staff member who checked us out (sorry I didn’t catch his name), was also lovely and very knowledgeable. The only odd thing I would mention (and not a criticism as we used them), is that the cups for hot drinks in the bedroom were paper. This seemed a bit odd as we were provided with 4 glass glasses for water. It just seemed like a waste of paper/card and not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. It was only minor though and didn’t impact our stay at all. We will definitely come again next time we’re in Porto and we’ve already recommended you to friends! Thanks again for a lovely weekend!! 😊

We had a fantastic 4 night stay, our room was on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel, we could see the Dom Luis 1 bridge over the rooftops, beautiful lit up at night. The room was lovely, very comfortable bed and we were supplied with extra pillows when we asked. The shower was great and we were supplied with toiletries etc. Breakfast had a good choice of cold items and cakes/ pastries which were delicious. There was a small section of hot food ( scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, sausages, tomatoes and mushrooms) -our only suggestion would be that staff could check on these and replenish or replace them when necessary, also the tables were often not cleared and set for guests who were waiting. None of this spoiled our experience- it’s just a suggestion for improvement. The staff on reception were great , they were always welcoming and helped us finding our way around. The hotel is in a fantastic location- a couple of minutes walk from the Douro and walking around the Old Town and many beautiful sights as well as places to eat and shop. Close to the bridge to walk across to Gaia. It was in a great position for transport links. We would love to return one day - just perfect for an interesting and relaxing break.
